Augusta
Today was spent on hitting the axis on Sicily. We bombed the harbor installations at the town of Augusta which is on the eastern coast of Sicily. We went after an oil tanker but to no good avail. The raid was a success however-we hit large oil storages and lot of small boats. We had a fighter cover of R.A.F. planes which was composed of thirty two or six spitfires. They really looked good out there-makes one feel a lot more at ease to know they are looking after you. There was no mail today. I expect some very soon however. I felt a little sick after landing due to stomach trouble. It will clear up soon. I think cold and food caused it. The air might have had something to do with it for it was very rough. ......
The website 376bg.org is NOT our site nor is it our endowment fund.
At the 2017 reunion, the board approved the donation of our archives to the Briscoe Center for American History, located on the University of Texas - Austin campus.
Also, the board approved a $5,000 donation to add to Ed Clendenin's $20,000 donation in the memory of his father. Together, these funds begin an endowment for the preservation of the 376 archives.
