5. June 6, 1944
Ploesti, Romania - Americano Romano Oil. Refinery, encountered 15 ME-109's and 5 FW190's - P38's engaged until short of fuel. 2 each B-24's shot down by intense flak and fighters. Lt. Estep bailed out crew of one B-24 which circled losing altitude and killed two crew men on parachutes. Estep escaped Germans and walked out of Yugoslavia 3 months later with broken leg. Third ship badly damaged. We escorted it back to base. Eighteen parachutes seen. Our tail gunner damaged ME-109. Double Credit Mission.

At the 2017 reunion, the board approved the donation of our archives to the Briscoe Center for American History, located on the University of Texas - Austin campus.
Also, the board approved a $5,000 donation to add to Ed Clendenin's $20,000 donation in the memory of his father. Together, these funds begin an endowment for the preservation of the 376 archives.
