Monday - Got up at 5:00 a.m. and took off for Trinidad at 7:00 a.m. Trip was uneventful and got there in some 5 hours. So we are now in the tropics - guess I expected too much for I am disappointed. The only evidence of tropical (my tropical) lands is the dense jungle or under-brush. The town, Port of Spain, is too far so my observations are merely from Waller Field.. There is not a thing to do here but fly and drink. The shows are at least 2 years old and "B" pictures at that. The natives are black as all hell. Had a leak in wing tank but that is being repaired.
Our first ship is down here waiting for an engine change, but otherwise our flight is intact.
The website 376bg.org is NOT our site nor is it our endowment fund.
At the 2017 reunion, the board approved the donation of our archives to the Briscoe Center for American History, located on the University of Texas - Austin campus.
Also, the board approved a $5,000 donation to add to Ed Clendenin's $20,000 donation in the memory of his father. Together, these funds begin an endowment for the preservation of the 376 archives.
