Daniel Orr Mission September 3, 1943
SEP 3 All hell broke loose on Mission #15 to Sulmona, Italy, to bomb -- marshalling yards. Had bad weather and made formation flying almost impossible. Bevelle and crew were shot down. Wing caught on fire and most of crew got out. Had about 40 fighters attacking us. Landed at Gerbini. Sicily, to pick up Lt. Holt's crew. Ran into Hackadorn, an ex-Aggie classmate. Moebling and crew also went down on this mission - 1st mission for the whole crew.

At the 2017 reunion, the board approved the donation of our archives to the Briscoe Center for American History, located on the University of Texas - Austin campus.
Also, the board approved a $5,000 donation to add to Ed Clendenin's $20,000 donation in the memory of his father. Together, these funds begin an endowment for the preservation of the 376 archives.
