February 28, 1945     21st Sortie

Isacro Albes, North Italy - Railroad bridge

Bombed at 24,000 feet Temp. - 31 degrees F.

5 - 500 lb. bombs   P-5l escort

Lead ship that day. Approached target from west. Gave up lead due to frozen bomb sight. Lead pilot had us flying 90 degrees off of target. Dodged flak all along Brenner Pass. Had supercharger and prop trouble but it cleared up later on. Had possible hits on target. Target had 36 heavy guns. Mission lasted about 7-1/2 hours.

At the 2017 reunion, the board approved the donation of our archives to the Briscoe Center for American History, located on the University of Texas - Austin campus.

Also, the board approved a $5,000 donation to add to Ed Clendenin's $20,000 donation in the memory of his father. Together, these funds begin an endowment for the preservation of the 376 archives.
