Samuel D. Rose - Mission May 28, 1943
May 28 went to Foggia airfield Italy. We filled out wing tip tanks and carried 240 6 lb. frag. bombs. They were wired to a pipe three in front of three more. They hung in the bomb bay like the rest but where they dropped out a 45 caliber bullet fired through the pipe and cut the wire. After that each one scattered in the wind and covered about one hundred foot strip on the ground all together you lay down a blanket of those and
it sure makes a mess of aircraft.

At the 2017 reunion, the board approved the donation of our archives to the Briscoe Center for American History, located on the University of Texas - Austin campus.
Also, the board approved a $5,000 donation to add to Ed Clendenin's $20,000 donation in the memory of his father. Together, these funds begin an endowment for the preservation of the 376 archives.
