Samuel D. Rose - Mission July 6, 1943
July 6 - went to Gerbini airdrome near Malta on Sicily. When we left target over the water and started dropping down I saw ship #41-O off my left and below with #3 engine out and fighters allover him so I dropped down to give him more guns till we could get farther off shore. We made it OK but when we landed I got called before the Col. because that was a no no, which I never did again. If you fallout of formation that was tough.

At the 2017 reunion, the board approved the donation of our archives to the Briscoe Center for American History, located on the University of Texas - Austin campus.
Also, the board approved a $5,000 donation to add to Ed Clendenin's $20,000 donation in the memory of his father. Together, these funds begin an endowment for the preservation of the 376 archives.
