On July 3rd I flew to Giurgiu, Rumania with a 30 ship formation to bomb an oil refinery. Twenty three aircraft made it over the target and 25 returned to base. We were attacked over the target by 35-40 ME109 and FW190 enemy aircraft. Two ME109s were destroyed. One of our B-24s was destroyed and four missing with a total of 51 crewmen missing and 5 wounded.

At the 2017 reunion, the board approved the donation of our archives to the Briscoe Center for American History, located on the University of Texas - Austin campus.
Also, the board approved a $5,000 donation to add to Ed Clendenin's $20,000 donation in the memory of his father. Together, these funds begin an endowment for the preservation of the 376 archives.
